Bernard Model
A single-chine steel cutter. The first example was built in 1995 for an offshore sailing enthusiast who commissioned naval architect Rodolfo Foschi to design a hull closely inspired by Tamata, the last yacht of the legendary Bernard Moitessier. Only five boats of this design were built.
MATA HARI is a custum-made steel Cutter, builted by her first owner, an experienced welder, starting in 2001 and launched in 2008.
The following documentation is available:
• Declaration of conformity to the original design by Naval Architect Rodolfo Foschi.
• Professional survey carried out by marine surveyor at the time of purchase in 2016 by actual owner (second owner).

• Polyurethane topcoat with non-slip microspheres

• 90 W solar panel mounted on the stern arch, providing complete summer autonomy with the refrigerator running continuously.

• High-intensity halogen searchlight with waterproof 12V socket

• 1,500 W inverter with 220V distribution system and shore-power isolation transformer

Polish flag (no annual renewal required).
Engine Overhaul (2015)
The Perkins engine underwent a complete rebuild including:
• Freshwater pump
• Thermostat
• Raw water pump
• Oil pump overhaul
• Main and connecting rod bearings
• Piston rings
• Custom stainless steel raw-water manifolds
• Rubber hoses
• Cylinder head, crankcase, sump and rocker cover gaskets
• Acid cleaning of heat exchangers
• Engine oil and gearbox oil cooler pipes
• External sandblasting and epoxy repainting with zinc primer
• New engine electrical system and VDO instrumentation (oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltmeter, tachometer and fuel gauge)
Further maintenance:
• Starter motor overhauled in 2021
• Electric lift fuel pump installed in 2023
• Annual routine servicing (belts, filters, oils, etc.)
The complete electrical system is bonded to sacrificial anodes. All wiring is double insulated with waterproof junction boxes and sealed connectors throughout, including at the mast base to simplify mast removal. The engine is equipped with a waterproof multi-pin connector allowing easy removal without rewiring. The engine is installed amidships with full access from all four sides, greatly simplifying maintenance.
Additional Information
From the date of purchase (February 2016) until December 2017, MATA HARI cruised the Adriatic and Ionian Seas.
From 2018 through 2025, she was hauled out every winter and launched between April and October, spending between two and six months afloat each season in the Aegean Sea.
Recent maintenance:
• Bottom antifouling: 2018, 2022 and 2025
• New Okoumé plywood bathing platform: 2025
• Propeller shaft bearing replacement and fuel tank cleaning: 2025
