The Piana 30 was conceived and designed as a simple, accessible boat that allows sailors to experience the advantages of a catamaran at a reasonable price. The design focuses on excellent sailing performance, including upwind, achieved through a light and durable construction, high stability, and low wind resistance thanks to the slender cabin structure. The hulls offer standing headroom, while the central cabin provides seated headroom only, which may be a little less comfortable for tall sailors.
“Zazou” was professionally built under the supervision of designer Bertrand Desray, using marine plywood sheathed in glass and epoxy, and remains in good condition. The current owner purchased the catamaran in 2001 and has fully completed the equipment with modern electronics in addition to the existing navigation instruments. The central outboard engine is linked to the tillers. The accommodation offers space for six people inside and outside in the cockpit, and the helmsman has a dedicated seat on the wide side decks above the aft cabins. The radar mast is easily lowered.
Due to the passing of the owner, there is now some deferred maintenance, which has prompted a significant price reduction.
