The Catana 50 designed by Christophe Barreau and built by Catana in France. Awarded best Cruising Multihull at the 2008 Cruising World Boat of the Year Awards. The Catana 50 is one of the most prestigious performance cruising catamarans of its generation: vacuum-infused foam sandwich construction reinforced with carbon and aramid fibers, daggerboards for true upwind capability, and two aft helm stations. Light weight and good performance are hallmarks of the Catana line. This sporty 50-footer benefits from the liberal use of carbon fiber, which allows laminates to be made thinner yet stronger. The mast and the boom are being painted—the new standing rigging, new batteries, new 8 pax life raft, the total amount of these expenses amounts to € 50,000. Ahead of the hand-over, she will receive VC Offshore International-style refit, including polishing of the hulls and repair of any dents or scratches, repair of the air conditioning system, servicing of the sails (Solent, Gennaker, Mainsail), etc. The cat will be handed over in ready to sail condition fresh and all aggregates in full working order. A rare opportunity for to sail a sound Catana 50 performance cruiser, ready to cross oceans in full autarky, safety and comfort.
