1978 Formosa Peterson 46, 175 000 USD

USHAS is an actively cruised Doug Peterson-designed offshore yacht with major structural, mechanical, rigging and electrical work completed and documented.

Built by Formosa in 1978 on the Peterson/Formosa 46 platform, she is approx. 48' hull/51' LOA including bowsprit. We live aboard, cruise and maintain her.

Tankage: 203 US gal/768 L fuel and 300 US gal/1,136 L water. Her integrated stern forms part of the hull and aft deck, adding deck space and storage while extending her effective sailing waterline. A stand-up engine room and separate adjoining workshop provide exceptional service access. In favorable conditions under full sail, we have observed 8.5–9.2 knots, with excellent tracking and balanced motion.

DOCUMENTED PROFESSIONAL WORK
2017 — Trans Atlantic Diesel: comprehensive Perkins 4.236M 85 hp rebuild; installed/commissioned during the Deltaville project; panel ~1,399h since commissioning.
2017–18 — Deltaville Boatyard (ABYC Standards Accredited): engineered honeycomb-cored deck replacing teak; cockpit/aft-deck work; custom Luther’s aluminum fuel tanks.
2018–19 — Mack Sails: new standing rigging and sails; Hood mast/furling refurbished.
2019 — Hinckley: haul-out, bottom and cutless-bearing service.
2025 — RAM Marina: hull/bottom, through-hulls, mechanical/shaft-line and cutless-bearing service; running-rigging and electrical/charging modernization.

2025 lithium/Victron: 920Ah Epoch Marine Elite, MultiPlus/Ekrano, Balmar 250A/WakeSpeed and ~800W solar. Raymarine Axiom/Quantum 2/Evolution; Icom VHF with AIS/GPS/DSC; Starlink; dual refrigeration plus freezer; two A/C zones. Two private staterooms; two heads with showers.
