The Laurent Giles Vertue — formerly the famous Veritas — is a beautiful classic sailing yacht with the appearance and sailing characteristics for which Laurent Giles designs are renowned worldwide. This vessel combines timeless lines, traditional craftsmanship, and a warm nautical atmosphere with solid maintenance and recent upgrades. The all-teak hull, built on strong merbau frames and fitted with a solid iron keel, gives the ship not only an authentic appearance but also a particularly comfortable and reliable character on the water. The ship exudes classic elegance: warm woodwork, a deep sheen, and the charm of a true traditional sailing yacht.

The teak deck was professionally re-caulked in 2020 by Loedeman in Elburg, ensuring the deck remains in excellent condition for years to come. In 2024, the hull and the forward section of the superstructure were professionally repainted by Kroes in Kampen, giving the ship a fresh and well-maintained appearance. Additionally, a new mainsail cover, a new boom tent, and a new VHF antenna were installed in 2026.

The wooden mast and boom have been replaced with an aluminium mast and boom. The rigging has been recalculated by Laurent Giles and is therefore much easier to sail than the original rigging with backstays and a parrot. A Plastimo Navik wind vane has been installed for long voyages.

This Vertue is a ship for lovers of classic sailing. It is a very reliable vessel for the open sea. The current owner has visited Denmark, as well as England and France, multiple times. A characterful sight in every harbor, with the seaworthiness and quality for which these designs are known.

In 2013, a 21 hp three-cylinder Nanni diesel engine was installed. With this engine, you will never be short of power.
