Askold 48 LIBAVA is an 18.6 m traditional-style sailing vessel with a wooden hull built from selected pine. Its single-layer carvel planking is supported by laminated longitudinal and transverse framing, with approximately six tons of internal ballast. Structural work includes repairs to the frames and partial replacement of stern planking on the starboard side. VAT paid.

The vessel carries a single-masted gaff schooner rig with a wooden mast, synthetic sailcloth, and a combination of natural-fibre and modern synthetic ropes. Traditional deck hardware includes a manual mechanical windlass, an approximately 100 kg Admiralty anchor, chain, and a dedicated chain locker. Under power, the Valmet 23B0.1 diesel engine is rated at 88.3 kW / 120 hp, with a stated cruising speed of approximately 8 knots; a SOLE generator provides 6.6 kW / 230V.

The reconfigured interior provides two spacious saloons, a captain’s cabin, galley, marine toilet, and two dedicated storage compartments, with forepeak and engine-room spaces also provided. Onboard systems include Raymarine chartplotter, autopilot, radar, and VHF communication, together with 12V DC and 220V AC networks, freshwater, seawater, bilge, ventilation, and waste systems. The open deck is arranged for passenger operations and accommodates up to 36 persons.
