Celeste 36
This is a unique (one-off) yacht that was created after careful consideration of what a motorboat for 2 (+1) should look like. It was designed by Swedish designer Gabriel Hayman and was only released for construction after an optimization process that included tank tests of hull models at the Chalmers Institute in Gothenburg. The result is a highly seaworthy and robust boat that can easily be sailed by two people. This has been achieved by:
Concentrating the keel weight in a deep-set bulb that maximizes the righting moment.
Further increasing the righting moment by using a lightweight and rigid carbon-fiber mast.
A further improvement in stability using ballast tanks that also serve as drinking water tanks. This also allows for longer voyages without the need to call at port (water capacity of up to 800 liters).
A better distribution of displacement has reduced hull resistance and increased speed, especially with a little slack in the sheets. A byproduct of this is that the boat is easy to handle and stable to sail.
Another feature is the use of electric winches for both halyards and sheets. This makes it very simple to set and strike sails single-handed and turns rigging into a one-man job. The boat is also equipped with a furling jib with a sheet to the boom, and all
functions can be operated electrically
Cockpit
The cockpit is spacious and becomes much larger by folding down the combined swim/emergency platform (this can be done from the seaward side). The boat can even sail with the swim platform folded down if desired. A cockpit table can be folded up in front of the helm console and accommodates 6 guests; the 4 bench seats are spacious. A large storage compartment for bicycles, etc., is located under the cockpit floor
Below-deck layout
Forward below deck are the chain (50 m stainless steel) and chain locker. The anchor (15 kg Bruce) is permanently secured in a bracket. A large storage compartment provides space for fenders and ropes
Below deck, aft of the chain locker, there are three full-height wardrobes, and aft of these are the boat’s only two dedicated berths. These are proper berths, with custom-fitted spring mattresses intended exclusively for sleeping.
Aft of the boat’s fixed berths, which extend to the through-mast, is the saloon table on the port side and the navigation table on the starboard side, with space for nautical charts; further aft is the galley with a large freezer, induction cooktop, and microwave oven. There are cabinets under the galley. Pressurized hot and cold water is available here as well as in the toilet and cockpit.
On the port side, aft of the mast, is a toilet/shower compartment that actually works, unlike what many other larger boats can boast.
This is definitely a boat worth seeing, so call Bjørn Normann at +45 53571075 for a viewing or further information.
