I'm selling my home of the last three years.I took her over in Norway in 2023 and sailed her down the whole Atlantic coast: Belgium, France, Spain, all the way to Alvor in the Algarve, where she now sits on her mooring. If you're currently boat hunting, you know the dilemma: either thin production GRP from the 2000s, or a solid classic that needs 25,000 to 40,000 euros before you can actually go anywhere. That's exactly why I can write this ad with a clear conscience: this is the classic where all of that has already been done. Swedish yard quality from 1983, thick solid GRP, built like a tank. And the refit of the last two years wasn't done to sell her. It was done because I lived on her. You'll feel the difference the moment you step aboard.
The expensive stuff is done:
- Volvo Penta D1-30 with only approx. 450 hours, basically like new
- Complete new electrical system: 490 Ah (lithium + AGM), 600 W solar, Victron, 2,000 W pure sine inverter. We lived off-grid for months, no shore power, no generator
- New genoa furler (close to 5,000 euros on its own)
- Keel bolts renewed, new stuffing box, all side windows replaced
- Fresh antifouling July 2026, hauled out, hull inspected and photographed
- Interior: Armaflex insulation in the sleeping cabins, full repaint, new mattress toppers, all LED
And something you might not expect from a long-keeled cruiser: she is fast. The Mamba had a reputation in Sweden as a quick boat, and you still feel it today — with the 150% genoa she really pulls. The winches are sized a class up from what you'd expect on a 34-footer: 2x Lewmar 48 self-tailing, freshly serviced. All lines led aft to the cockpit, plus lazyjacks — she's relaxed to sail single-handed even when the wind picks up.
Also on board (a selection): Raymarine i60 (wind, log, depth, compass), AIS receiver, VHF with DSC, compressor fridge, oven (11l gas bottle), 6 berths, sound system inside and out with Bluetooth and good speakers, EPIRB (2 years old), life raft, electric anchor windlass plus second anchor, dinghy with electric motor and lithium battery.
The mooring is honestly a selling point of its own: you can take over the buoy in Alvor bay directly from the local fisherman, 120 euros a month, plus unlimited fresh water for 30. Alvor is one of the most beautiful anchorages on the Algarve, and from here you're 2 days from Gibraltar, 2 to 3 days from the Canaries. If you want to cross this winter: the ARC leaves Las Palmas in November, and this is one of the few boats on the market that needs no yard time to get there.
Viewings and sea trial anytime in Alvor. I speak German, English or Spanish, just get in touch.
____
- Komplette Elektrik neu: 490 Ah (Lithium + AGM), 600 W Solar, Victron, 2.000 W Sinus-Wechselrichter.
- Genua-Rollreff neu (allein knapp 5.000 Euro)
- Kielbolzen erneuert, Stopfbuchse neu, Seitenfenster komplett neu
