Winner 950 now in the online auction. everyone can bid until 19 October 2026.

Winner 950 Xena for active sailorsWhat kind of boat is the Winner 950?The Winner 950 Xena is a Dutch sailing yacht from 1995, built by Winneryachts in Enkhuizen to a design by Van de Stadt Design. She was launched in 1996 and has hull number 960059. With a length of 9.50 metres, a beam of 3.10 metres and a draught of 1.70 metres, she is suitable for sailing on inland waters, lakes and coastal waters. The round-bilge hull is made of polyester, and the boat is steered with a tiller from the cockpit.

The air draught is 14.20 metres. Inside, she offers approximately 1.85 metres of headroom. The layout provides four permanent berths, with room for two additional berths. This makes the Winner 950 suitable for weekends, holidays and longer trips with a family or a small group. The accommodation includes a cabin, galley, refrigerator, manual toilet and hot-air heating. The cooking facilities can be used with either electricity or gas.

Winner 950 now in the online auction. Everyone can bid until 19 October 2026.What is the layout like on board? The interior space is used efficiently, with storage cupboards and a spacious cockpit locker. The cabin cushions still have usable foam, but the upholstery is worn and needs to be refurbished. The current covers can remain in place for the time being, but a future owner should allow for new upholstery. The estimated cost is approximately €2,000, depending on the materials and finish chosen.

Outside, the boat has a self-draining cockpit, teak cockpit benches, a bathing platform, boarding ladder, guardrails, fenders and mooring lines. A sprayhood, cockpit tent and MainDrop system are included. These features are still functional, but the sprayhood and MainDrop system show signs of use and will probably need to be replaced in the longer term. The sails are also functional, although their age and use are clearly visible.

What engine and technical equipment does she have? The Winner 950 has a built-in 1995 Yanmar 2GM20SD diesel engine. The two-cylinder engine produces 16 hp and is electrically started. It runs on GTL and has a stated fuel consumption of approximately 2 litres per hour. The cruising speed is around 9 kilometres per hour, with a maximum speed of approximately 12 kilometres per hour. The fuel tank has a capacity of 40 litres.

In 2025, the saildrive received an extensive service. This included replacing the propeller housing and fitting a new sacrificial anode. New service batteries were also installed that year. There are four batteries on board, with a total capacity of 370 Ah. The electrical installation includes an alternator, battery charger, inverter and shore-power connection. The Sterling ProCharge battery charger has three outputs and a control unit in the cabin.

The water tank has a capacity of 150 litres. The manual toilet discharges directly overboard. A manual bilge pump is fitted. The engine is stated to be operational, but prospective buyers are advised to pay attention to the engine compartment, connections, hoses and general operation during the viewing day.

What navigation and sailing equipment is included? The navigation equipment consists of a GPS, chartplotter, depth sounder, log and speedometer, compass, wind instrument, autopilot and VHF radio. In 2024, a Standard Horizon GX1850E DSC GPS VHF radio was installed, together with a Standard Horizon SSM70H external unit. In 2025, an iPad for navigation, an AIS responder and a wind instrument were added.

The aluminium mast carries three sails: a mainsail, jib and gennaker. The gennaker has an area of approximately 54 square metres and is supplied with a snuffer. The mainsail and high-aspect jib are made of laminated cloth with taffeta protection and date from 2008. The gennaker dates from 2004. The sails still hold their shape and can be used, but the protective taffeta layer is coming loose in several places. They can still be used, but will require servicing or replacement in the longer term. The headsail has a furling system.

What recent work has been carried out on the boat? The boat has been modified and maintained in several areas in recent years. In 2024, the deck was renovated and finished with new non-slip paint. Parts of the toilet were also replaced. In 2025, work was carried out on the saildrive, batteries and several components of the navigation system. Earlier work included new rudder bearings, a replacement saildrive gaiter, renewed teak floorboards, a new sprayhood with stainless-steel frame, a modified refrigerator and a renewed tridatа system.

The boat was taken out of the water for maintenance in 2025 and received a new antifouling treatment that year. For the coming winter, allowance should be made for taking the boat out of the water again, applying a further coat of antifouling and polishing the hull.

Who is this boat suitable for?The Winner 950 is an attractive option for anyone looking for a sporty Dutch sailing yacht with four permanent berths and practical accommodation. She has been used for day trips, weekend stays, holidays and longer sailing trips on the IJsselmeer, Markermeer, the Wadden Islands and in Zeeland. The current owner has owned her since 1999 and used her for many years with the family and later with the grandchildren.

Anyone searching online to buy a boat should pay particular attention to the combination of dimensions, draught, equipment and maintenance requirements of this Winner 950. For those looking to buy a second-hand boat, the age of the sails, the upholstery and the condition of the sprayhood are important points to consider. The best boat-buying advice in this case is to carry out a realistic inspection of the deck, sails, engine, saildrive, batteries and interior finish. The boat is being sold because the owner is moving to a larger Winner model.

When can you view the boat? The Winner 950 Xena is being offered through Boat Auction. There will be a viewing day on which you can inspect her at your leisure and assess the condition of the hull, deck, interior, engine and equipment yourself. No trailer is included. The sale includes, among other items, mooring lines, fenders, a bucket, cutlery, plates and cushion covers for the cabin and sleeping areas.
