The Outremer 5X is the flagship of the Outremer shipyard and fully embodies the brand’s philosophy: performance at sea, safety, and autonomy for offshore sailing. Designed by the renowned yacht design firm VPLP, globally recognized for its racing and cruising multihulls, it combines advanced composite construction, structural lightness, and a powerful sail plan. The result is a catamaran capable of maintaining high average speeds over long distances while offering remarkable comfort on board. The structure incorporates several key carbon elements: a rotating carbon mast, a carbon roof, a carbon bimini, and structural carbon bulkheads, all contributing to the rigidity and lightness of the entire vessel. This 5X has recently been optimized with a new set of Incidence sails installed in 2024, allowing the full potential of the carbon rig to be utilized. In the same context, the running rigging was also replaced in 2024, ensuring a performance-oriented setup ready for many upcoming voyages.
