She was yard-built in 1970 at Woudenberg and was originally delivered under the name Christina. Later she continued cruising as De Seventies, a name that suits her build year and character perfectly. The current owner describes her as a second home on the water—a place to unwind on inland waterways, lakes and rivers. With her length of 9.80 metres and beam of 2.85 metres, this motor vlet offers a pleasant balance between easy handling and comfort. The draft of approx. 0.90 metres and an air draft of about 1.10 metres make her suitable for many Dutch cruising areas, including routes with lower bridges. Inside there is approx. 1.90 metres headroom, allowing comfortable movement even during longer stays.



What makes this Woudenberg Vlet 980 special?
She combines a robust steel hard-chine hull with a practical layout and an inviting atmosphere on board. The boat is fitted with a dinette, refrigerator and cooker, and comes with mattresses and hot water. This makes her suitable not only for day trips, but also for weekends away or holidays. Outside you’ll find, among other things, a sprayhood, cockpit tent, exterior cushions, davits, fenders and lines, and a swim ladder—so life on deck can be just as enjoyable as inside.

Electrically, there is a practical base with shore power, battery charger, alternator, voltmeter and a solar panel that will be refitted. Two batteries are present with a total capacity of approx. 500.



How many berths does she have and how comfortable is it?
She offers two fixed berths in a sleeping cabin with longitudinal berths. In addition, there are extra sleeping options: two berths can be created in the forepeak and the settees can also be converted, allowing up to six berths in total. This makes this steel motorboat interesting for couples who want plenty of space, but also for families or guests on board. The owner indicates that the interior is dry, including in the forepeak, which adds to comfort during overnight stays.



Which engines does she have and what can you expect?
This Woudenberg vlet is equipped with two inboard diesels: Peugeot Indenor engines of approx. 60 hp each, four-cylinder, electric start. The stated running hours are approx. 2008. Onboard instruments include an oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge and tachometer. Twin engines provide a reassuring feel when manoeuvring and offer extra capability when cruising on rivers and larger lakes. There is no bow thruster, something to consider in tight marinas, although the twin-engine setup often helps with controlled turning and docking.



Are there any points of attention to keep in mind?
The owner is transparent about a practical point: everything works, but the electrical wiring could be tidied away more neatly for those who find that important. Also, there is no bow thruster. On the plus side, documentation is available in the form of maintenance booklets and an instruction manual, and in 2025 visible work was carried out on the underwater hull, anodes and propeller alignment.
