Wadvogel 38 – außergewöhnlich leichter Open-Bridge-Deck-Katamaran, gebaut von Jan Bart de Jong, der zugleich erster Eigner des Bootes war. Bei 11,40 m Länge und 6,40 m Breite wiegt der Katamaran nur 3,1 t. Mit aufgeholten Schwertern beträgt der Tiefgang lediglich 0,45 m. Das offene Brückendeck ohne schweren Decksaufbau prägt das ungewöhnliche, konsequent leichte Konzept.
Fünf einfach ausgeführte, durch Vorhänge abgetrennte Kabinen/Schlafbereiche bieten insgesamt sechs Kojen. Pantry mit Kocher, Spüle und Kühlbox sowie Thetford-Chemietoilette.
Zur Ausstattung gehören North Sails Lattengroß 29 m² (2021, 3 Reffs), Fock 12 m² und Genua/Klüver 25,2 m² (beide 2017) sowie Blister 103 m². Yamaha FT9.9 Schub-Außenborder (2021), 200 Ah LiFePO4-Batterie (2024), 700 W Solaranlage mit Victron MPPT, Raymarine Autopilot, ICOM UKW-Funk mit GPS und Weatherdock AIS.
Der Wadvogel wird bewusst im aktuellen Zustand an Land angeboten. Am gut zugänglichen Cockpitboden besteht ein lokaler Holzschaden durch eingedrungene Feuchtigkeit. Der derzeit geschätzte Bereich liegt bei ca. 0,5 m²; der tatsächliche Reparaturumfang lässt sich erst beim Öffnen feststellen. Zusätzlich sind kleinere lokale Lack-/Beschichtungsstellen nachzuarbeiten, das Antifouling vor dem Zuwasserlassen zu erneuern und die beanspruchten Oberflächen an den unteren Führungen beider Schwertkästen zu kontrollieren bzw. nachzuarbeiten. Darüber hinaus ist dem Verkäufer kein weiterer Reparaturbedarf bekannt, der einer normalen Nutzung entgegensteht.
Umfangreiche historische Konstruktionszeichnungen, Bootsdokumente und Unterlagen zu vielen neueren Komponenten sind vorhanden.
Das Boot steht in Lübeck an Land und ist vollständig abgedeckt. Zuwasserlassen per Mobilkran und Maststellen sind vor Ort organisierbar. The open bridge deck, free of heavy superstructure, defines this unusual, consistently lightweight design.
Five simply designed cabins/sleeping areas, separated by curtains, offer a total of six berths. The galley features a stove, sink, and cooler, as well as a Thetford chemical toilet.
The equipment includes a North Sails battened mainsail (29 m², 2021, 3 reefs), a jib (12 m²), and a genoa/jib (25.2 m², both 2017), as well as a blister (103 m²). Yamaha FT9.9 inboard-outboard engine (2021), a 200 Ah LiFePO4 battery (2024), a 700 W solar system with Victron MPPT, a Raymarine autopilot, an ICOM VHF radio with GPS, and a Weatherdock AIS.
The Wadvogel is intentionally being offered for sale in its current condition. There is localized wood damage on the easily accessible cockpit floor caused by moisture penetration. The currently estimated area is approximately 0.5 m²; the actual extent of repairs can only be determined once the area is opened up. In addition, minor local areas of paint or coating need to be touched up, the antifouling must be renewed before launching, and the stressed surfaces on the lower guides of both centerboard cases need to be inspected and, if necessary, repaired. Furthermore, the seller is not aware of any other repair needs that would preclude normal use.

The boat is stored on land in Lübeck and is fully covered. Launching via mobile crane and mast installation can be arranged on site.
