El Galante is een Gallant 53 sloop Van de Stadt design. Gebouwd bij Southern Ocean Ship Yard Limited door Tylers in 1973. Tussen 1967 en 1973 zijn er 22 gebouwd. El Galante is nummer 19 in deze rij.

De Gallant 53 is prima met twee mensen te zeilen. Naomi James zeilde zelfs als eerste vrouw solo met een Gallant 53 rond de wereld.

Op dit moment ligt zij in de Zuiderhaven Harlingen (NL).
De ligplaats is betaald tot 1 november 2026.

In het oorspronkelijke ontwerp was er accommodatie voor 11/12 personen. Hoe wij de boot gebruiken, kunnen 8 personen slapen. Voorste piek met een tweepersoonsbed met matras (oorspronkelijk 2 x eenpersoons). Bakboord- en stuurboordcabines 2 x stapelbedden in elke cabine met lee-cloth. Salon zitplaatsen 2 x (en oorspronkelijk 2 x vliegbed met lee-cloth, nu boekenplanken). Kapiteinscabine 1 x (in gebruik als opslag).

El Galante is a Gallant 53 sloop designed by Van de Stadt. She was built at Southern Ocean Ship Yard Limited by Tylers in 1973. Between 1967 and 1973, 22 were built. El Galante is number 19 in this series.

The Gallant 53 is perfectly suited for sailing with two people. Naomi James was even the first woman to sail solo around the world on a Gallant 53.

She is currently moored in the Zuiderhaven in Harlingen (NL).
The mooring is paid for through November 1, 2026.

In the original design, there was accommodation for 11–12 people. The way we use the boat, it can sleep 8 people. The forward peak has a double bed with a mattress (originally 2 single beds). Port and starboard cabins: 2 sets of bunk beds in each cabin with a lee cloth. Salon seating: 2 sets (originally 2 daybeds with lee cloths, now bookshelves). Captain’s cabin: 1 (currently used for storage).
