Engine

Volvo Penta MD7A

The engine is running well and has been used during the current cruising voyage. It is a simple and well-known marine diesel, suitable for a yacht of this size.

Major refit & upgrades

Celia has had a substantial refit during the current ownership, including a major interior refurbishment approximately two years ago.

The original interior layout was redesigned to create a considerably more open and practical living space.

The structural bulkheads have not been removed. Larger openings were created within them while retaining the bulkheads as structural frames.

The electrical installation was also renewed and a custom-built electrical distribution/control panel was installed.

Other important upgrades include:

  • Mast replaced approximately 2 years ago
  • Standing rigging replaced approximately 2 years ago
  • Electrical installation renewed
  • Custom electrical panel
  • 300W solar system
  • AGM house battery
  • Steering cables renewed
  • Interior refit approximately 2 years ago
  • Dinghy purchased in 2026
  • 4-stroke outboard

Sails & rig

The mainsail has previously been repaired/stitched. It is usable, although a future owner may eventually wish to replace it.

Condition / work recommended

Celia is a 1979 yacht and is being sold honestly with some areas for further improvement.

The following work would be advisable:

  • Refreshing/repainting the deck
  • Replacing the older house battery
  • Fresh antifouling — the last antifouling was approximately four years ago
  • Repairing or replacing sections of the wooden rubbing strake, which are currently missing amidships
  • Repairing/replacing the wind instrument
  • The mainsail could eventually be replaced

These points are reflected in the asking price.
