Sailart

Since 1993, the German yard Sailart has been building trailerable sport sailboats in Erftstadt near Cologne, consistently characterized by low weight, stiff hull construction and balanced sailing qualities. The yard focuses on a direct, precise feel on the helm; its target group is sport-minded recreational sailors, often with a racing background. According to the yard, more than 800 boats are sailing on inland and coastal waters across Europe.

Unsinkable, light, fast.

Sailart relies on GRP sandwich construction with a foam core – high structural stiffness at a comparatively low overall weight is the declared aim. The light hulls and modern rig concepts with slightly overpowered sail plans let the boats get going quickly. These are qualities that pay off especially on inland waters and in changing conditions. The boats are designed to be unsinkable and optimized for simple, safe handling, including single-handed sailing.

The yard deliberately builds in small series and by hand. Fittings, ropes and deck gear come from established brand manufacturers, the same ones used in racing. Tests in specialist magazines repeatedly highlight the solid laminate quality, the clean execution of the deck details and the practical cockpit layout. The rig concepts are kept clearly functional and designed for efficient sail trim with a small crew.

Compact, with a keel

Sailart's portfolio comprises compact, sporty daysailers and small cruisers. All models are consistently trailerable, which makes transport, winter storage and changing sailing grounds considerably easier. This positions Sailart deliberately between classic dinghy cruisers and modern sport boats. The motto: high sailing performance with manageable effort.

In the specialist press, Sailart is regularly described as a typical "sailors' yard": the designs do not necessarily follow fashionable trends, but rely on timeless hull lines, functional deck layouts and sailing efficiency. Particular emphasis is placed on the boats' ability to be sailed hard without overwhelming beginners – a balancing act that Sailart pulls off throughout.

Sailart boats also hold up well on the used boat market. Tests and market observations attest to their lasting substance, solid build quality and consistent sailing characteristics, making them appealing to beginners and experienced sailors alike.
