Notes

1998 Saga 43, USD 120,000

Brigadoon III has been extensively sailed and thoughtfully upgraded by her current owners, who have logged tens of thousands of miles aboard. She reflects the kind of continuous care and real-world refinement that only comes from experienced offshore use.
Notable recent upgrades were completed in 2019 and 2023.
Brigadoon III is one of just 55 Saga 43s designed by renowned naval architect Robert Perry and built by Saga Yachts in St. Catharines, Ontario. She features the desirable two-head, Pullman-berth layout and was exported to the United States shortly after construction.
The Saga 43 stands apart from modern cruising yachts by prioritizing balance, efficiency, and offshore capability over sheer interior volume. With a relatively narrow beam and moderate displacement, she delivers efficient passagemaking and a comfortable motion at sea, regularly achieving 7 to 8-knot passage speeds.
Compared to designs like the Valiant 40 and Pacific Seacraft 40, the Saga 43 offers quicker performance and lighter handling while maintaining excellent stability and directional control. Her sail plan is optimized for short-handed sailing, with a self-tacking jib and cockpit-led controls that make her manageable for a couple or even singlehanded.
Below deck, the layout is practical and well-suited for life underway, with two cabins, two heads, a proper navigation station, and a secure galley. Quality joinery and solid construction provide durability and comfort for extended cruising.
With generous tankage and efficient diesel power, the Saga 43 is well-suited for long-range sailing with minimal reliance on marinas.
The result is a true offshore cruiser that blends performance, safety, and ease of handling, designed first and foremost to sail well over long distances.
