In 2008, I completely renovated a Rival 36
(complete electrical system, complete plumbing, complete interior [Alcantara upholstery], complete technical equipment [navigation equipment, diesel heater, and Newport cabin heater with dedicated gravity tank], complete rigging and shrouds), right down to a high-quality refinish of the doghouse.

The boat has been moored for several years at a private club in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in a permanent berth.

This can be acquired along with a share in the Club Varadero Marítimo (which guarantees the renewal of the annual contract). (The berth costs 2,200 euros per year + 700 euros for club membership. The boat is therefore being transferred along with its berth.

The photos show the most recent antifouling application in April 2025.

The sprayhood and covers need to be replaced.
The teak deck in the cockpit (which was also replaced in 2008 to replace the unsightly original planks) needs to be caulked again.

The sails have seen little use and are original Hood Vectron sails, specially ordered and made in Newport, USA.
