Notes
2022 Richard Woods Gypsy 28, USD 39,900
APOLONIA is a lightweight 32 ft cruising catamaran based on the proven Richard Woods Gypsy 28 design, extended to 32 ft (9.75 m).
She was professionally built in Indonesia by experienced German boatbuilder Jörg Jepsen as his own cruising catamaran. Construction took place from 2018 to 2022, with first launch in 2022. The hulls are a lightweight wood/epoxy/GRP composite construction using selected Meranti, Mahogany, Teak and marine plywood.
With a displacement of only approx. 3.5 tonnes, a carbon-fibre mast and boom built by Jörg himself, approx. 50 m² upwind sail area and a shallow draft of 0.85 m, APOLONIA was conceived as a light, fast and practical cruising catamaran for extended passages.
Sailing & rig:
Fully-battened mainsail approx. 34 m², furling jib approx. 16 m² and gennaker approx. 57 m² with snuffer/turtle bag. Dacron sails by Rolly Tasker Sails Thailand. Carbon mast and boom, four manual winches.
Engine & equipment:
Honda BF20 20 hp four-stroke outboard with approx. 750 operating hours. Simrad TP32 tiller pilot, Icom IC-M323 VHF/DSC, NASA Clipper Duet log/depth sounder, 2 × 100 Ah batteries, Quick 20 A battery charger, Sinepower inverter and Mobicool MCF60 compressor refrigerator. Freshwater capacity 210 litres.
Ground tackle includes a 10 kg Bruce anchor, 2 × 5 m chain and 50 m + 30 m rope. The dinghy “Flunder” with paddles is included and carried on stern davits.
APOLONIA has achieved speeds of up to approximately 14 knots in favourable conditions. Her combination of low displacement, shallow draft and simple systems makes her particularly interesting for sailors looking for an individual cruising catamaran rather than a heavy production boat.
She is currently located in Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia, and can be viewed by arrangement.
Asking price: USD 39,900, including renewed International antifouling before handover.
A detailed English exposé and a full owner walkthrough video are available via the links in this listing.
