Das Boot wurde 1985 als 30qm Schärenkreuzer bei der Michelsen Werft in Friedrichshafen, nach den Plänen des Design-Büros Judel/Vrolijk gebaut.
Nach Stretigkeiten mit der regionalen Klassenvereinigung am Bodensee, ließ der Eigner das Boot mit einem größeren Rigg, Cupper-Kiel und Vollschweberuder zum 40 Fuß IMS-Racer umbauen.

This boat is one of the most interesting and most discussed boats on Lake Constance, known for the so-called Contra affair.
The boat was built in 1985 as a 30sqm Schärenkreuzer at the Michelsen shipyard in Friedrichshafen, according to the plans of the Judel/Vrolijk design office.
After disputes with the regional class association on Lake Constance, the owner had the boat converted into a 40-foot IMS racer with a larger rig, cupper keel and full-floating rudder.
