Das ist kein Boot für Dickschiffsegler und Couch-Potatoes. Wenn Du nicht mehr Deine geliebte Rennjolle segeln kannst, weil die Familie darauf keinen Platz findet oder Du nicht mehr in den Neopren passt, wirst Du hier wieder den Segelspass finden, den Du auf einem Kielboot vermisst hast oder vermissen würdest.
Die E-Scow bietet ein Segelerlebnis wie auf einer Rennjolle, aber ohne die Kippligkeit. Ganz nah am Wasser reagiert sie auf jede Gewichtsverlagerung und Trimmänderung. Mit einem Gewicht von 438kg und 30m2 Segelfläche am Wind (81m2 raumschots) ist sie auf allen Kursen meist schneller als der Wind (und andere Einrumpfboote ohne Foils).
Standard Besatzung 3 oder 4 Personen. Wir segeln das Boot bis 2 Bft. meist zu zweit.
Das Boot ist ideal für sportliche Familien oder reifere Jollensegler. Denkbar auch für einen Verein oder eine Eignergemeinschaft.
In Yacht 7/2019 hat Michael Good unser Boot getestet (13kt bei 3 Bft) und war begeistert. Viele Videos auf Youtube zeigen, was das Boot ausmacht. In den USA gibt es grosse Regattafelder. In Europa ist mir nur eine auf dem Plattensee bekannt die gesegelt wird.
Mit der Zulassung als Rennboot dürfen Regattawesten ohne Kragen getragen werden.
Trockenplatz genügt, das Boot kann mit dem dazu gehörenden Slipwagen gewassert werden.
Das Boot und die Segel sind praktisch neuwertig.

Wir verwenden einen Torqueedo Travel 1 kW AB und das Boot ist damit zugelassen. Dieser kann auf Wunsch übernommen werden ebenso wie 4 Schwimmwesten Grösse XS, S, M, L und die vorgeschriebene Ausrüstung.
Ebenso dabei ist eine neue Persenning sowie ein Slipwagen. Wir haben und zusätzlich zum Original 52m2 Gennaker (Typ Runner) einen 38m2 vom Typ Reacher machen lassen weil das Boot auf den Raumschotkursen gerne zu schnell wir für den Runner. Der Runner ist eher für Regatten wo man tiefe Raumschotkurse fahren muss.

Der Neupreis für eine E-Scow liegt aktuell bei 85'000 USD, dazu kommen Transport und Verzollung ca. 8000 CHF.

The E-Scow offers a sailing experience like that of a racing dinghy, but without the tendency to capsize. Sailing very close to the water, it responds to every shift in weight and every change in trim. Weighing 438 kg and with 30 m² of sail area to windward (81 m² downwind), it’s usually faster than the wind (and other monohulls without foils) on all courses.
Standard crew: 3 or 4 people. We usually sail the boat in pairs up to 2 Bft.
The boat is ideal for athletic families or more experienced dinghy sailors. It’s also a good fit for a club or owners’ association.
In Yacht 7/2019, Michael Good tested our boat (13 knots at 3 Bft) and was thrilled. Many videos on YouTube show what makes this boat special. In the U.S., there are large regatta fleets. In Europe, I’m only aware of one on Lake Balaton where it’s raced.
Since it’s certified as a racing boat, regatta vests without collars may be worn.
A dry storage area is sufficient; the boat can be launched using the included trailer.
The boat and sails are practically brand-new.

We use a Torqueedo Travel 1 kW AB, and the boat is certified for it. This can be included upon request, as can 4 life jackets in sizes XS, S, M, and L, and the required safety equipment.
Also included are a new boat cover and a trailer. In addition to the original 52m² gennaker (Runner type), we had a 38m² Reacher-type gennaker custom-made because the boat tends to go too fast for the Runner on broad reaches. The Runner is better suited for regattas where you need to sail deep broad reaches.

The current list price for an E-Scow is 85,000 USD, plus approximately 8,000 CHF for shipping and customs clearance.
