LURINGEN – Finngulf 39
One of Norway’s most distinguished sailing boats.
There are many good sailing boats. There are few legends.
“Luringen” is a Finngulf 39 designed by the renowned Swedish designer Håkan Södergren and built at Finngulf Yachts in Finland – a shipyard known for uncompromising quality and exceptional sailing characteristics.
“Luringen” has earned a very special place in Norwegian sailing for decades. Under its first and only owner, “Luringen” has been among the most successful boats in races in the southern part of Norway, with an impressive number of top places and victories.
For anyone familiar with Norwegian ocean sailing, “Luringen” is a name that commands respect.

Finngulf 39 represents a pivotal moment in the development of Finnish performance cruising. The boat bridges the gap between the racing-focused early designs and the sophisticated luxury cruisers that defined the heyday of the Finnish boating industry. Launched in the mid-1980s and designed by renowned Swedish naval architect Håkan Södergren, the Finngulf 39 was conceived as a high-performance cruiser racer, without compromising on Scandinavian craftsmanship. It followed the success of the Finngulf 34 and 36 but offered a stronger hull and increased volume for offshore sailing. The boat's lineage is deeply rooted in the "FG Performance" philosophy, which sought to unite technical speed with "handmade" quality with increased durability.

Interior
The interior of the Finngulf 39 displays a masterclass in traditional Finnish joinery, dominated by high-quality satin-finished teak. The layout has a classic offshore configuration: a V-berth forward, a central saloon with two sofas and a folding table, a functional L-shaped galley to port and a dedicated navigation station to starboard and a large aft cabin. One of the defining characteristics of this model is the headroom, which was generous for its time, and the abundance of solid wooden handles, reflecting its purpose as a serious offshore vessel.

Maintenance, repairs and service:
• This Finngulf 39 has been regularly maintained both externally (hull and rigging) and internally (engine, technical equipment and fixtures).
• It has been kept ashore every winter after winter preservation.
• A grounding is reported from many years back. Repaired at a certified yard.

Luringen represents a rare opportunity to take over one of the Oslofjord's most famous sailboats.
This is a real sailboat built in a period where sailing characteristics, quality and seaworthiness were the focus.
For the right buyer, "Luringen" is far more than a sailboat. It is part of Norwegian ocean sailing history in recent times - and at the same time a very competent sailboat that still has many fast and comfortable nautical miles left in it.
The boat can be inspected by appointment after July 11, 2026
