Tehono came into our lives in early 2025, after we’d visited numerous sailboats. We were looking for a seaworthy, simple, sturdy boat capable of accompanying us on this new chapter of sailing as a couple.
Since then, we’ve carefully prepared her and upgraded her as our plans evolved: electronics, electrical systems, rigging, sails, safety, anchoring, and engine maintenance. Every improvement was designed to allow us to sail with greater peace of mind, with a small crew, on a reliable boat that’s easy to operate and truly ready to sail.
Tehono has allowed us to set sail, refine our sailing style, and confirm our desire to go further. Our project is now moving toward longer-duration voyages, with a boat designed for this new phase. We are now looking to pass Tehono on to a new crew eager to keep her alive and sailing.
Tehono is a 1983 Dufour 3800, meticulously maintained and fully equipped for both coastal and offshore sailing. A major refit was carried out by the previous owners prior to a transatlantic crossing in 2023, as well as by us in 2025 and 2026, with much of the work documented by invoices.
Designed by German Frers for the Dufour shipyard, the Dufour 3800 is a fast cruiser prized for its balance of sailing performance, ease of use, and interior space. With a length of 9.30 m, a draft of 1.70 m, and a fore-and-aft rig, she remains a seafaring, lively sailboat suited to both coastal cruising and more challenging voyages.
Available starting in August 2026.
