Broadblue Rapier 400 – schneller Blauwasser-Katamaran, Eignerversion, umfangreich für Langfahrt ausgerüstet.

OPEN MIND ist ein leichter und schneller 12-m-Blauwasser-Katamaran, der gleichzeitig komfortables Leben an Bord ermöglicht. Das Boot ist für kleine Crew ausgelegt und lässt sich auch einhand gut segeln.
Seit fast zwei Jahren ist OPEN MIND mein Zuhause. Sie hat mich zuverlässig von der Karibik durch den Panamakanal und über den Pazifik bis nach Französisch-Polynesien gebracht.
Das Boot ist umfangreich für Langfahrt und weitgehend autarkes Leben an Bord ausgerüstet. In den Jahren 2025 und 2026 wurden zahlreiche wesentliche Komponenten erneuert oder überholt.
OPEN MIND liegt derzeit in Französisch-Polynesien und kann hier besichtigt und übernommen werden. Ich werde voraussichtlich bis Juni 2027 in Französisch-Polynesien bleiben, sodass eine flexible Besichtigung und Übergabe möglich ist.
Für jemanden, der in den Pazifik möchte, bietet der Standort einen besonderen Vorteil: Das Boot befindet sich bereits mitten in einem der schönsten Segelreviere der Welt und ist für die Weiterreise ausgerüstet.

Geplante Arbeiten Oktober 2026

Anfang Oktober wird OPEN MIND für geplante Arbeiten aus dem Wasser genommen. Dabei wird ein neues Backbordruder als Ersatz für das auf offener See verlorene Ruder eingebaut. Dem Verlust ging keine Grundberührung voraus.
Außerdem werden beide Notausstiegsluken erneuert.
Das Unterwasserschiff wird beim Werftaufenthalt mit Hochdruck gereinigt und kontrolliert. Das vorhandene Coppercoat-Antifouling ist weiterhin vorhanden und soll weiter genutzt werden. Soweit erforderlich, werden einzelne Stellen des Unterwasserschiffs ausgebessert.
Während des Werftaufenthalts soll außerdem ein unabhängiges Condition Survey durchgeführt werden. Der Survey-Bericht kann anschließend ernsthaften Kaufinteressenten zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Leben an Bord:
OPEN MIND ist eine Eignerversion und bietet für einen 40-Fuß-Performance-Katamaran viel Platz und Stauraum.
Das Boot ist nicht nur für kurze Urlaubsreisen, sondern für dauerhaftes Leben an Bord und lange, autarke Reisen ausgerüstet. Die große Solaranlage und die 660-Ah-Lithium-Batteriebank ermöglichen einen weitgehend unabhängigen Bordbetrieb.
Die umfangreiche Langfahrtausrüstung sowie ein großer Bestand an Ersatzteilen und Werkzeugen bleiben an Bord und sind im Kaufpreis enthalten.
Für einen Käufer, der die Reise im Pazifik fortsetzen möchte, ist OPEN MIND damit weitgehend startklar. Persönliche Gegenstände werden selbstverständlich vor der Übergabe von Bord genommen.

Zustand und Besichtigung:
OPEN MIND ist in gutem und stetig gewarteten Zustand. Sie ist ein aktiv gesegeltes und bewohntes Langfahrtboot und kein unbenutztes Marina-Boot. Entsprechend gibt es alters- und nutzungsbedingte Gebrauchsspuren.
Die Front- und Seitenscheibe auf der Backbordseite zeigen alters- und UV-bedingte Gebrauchsspuren und sollten mittelfristig erneuert werden.
Das Boot kann nach Absprache in Französisch-Polynesien besichtigt werden. Nach dem geplanten Werftaufenthalt im Oktober 2026 wird voraussichtlich ein aktuelles unabhängiges Survey vorliegen.

Broadblue Rapier 400 – Fast Bluewater Cruising Catamaran, Owner's Version, Fully Equipped for Long-Distance Cruising.

OPEN MIND is a light and fast 12-metre bluewater cruising catamaran that also offers comfortable living aboard. She is designed to be sailed by a small crew and is easy to handle short-handed or single-handed.
OPEN MIND has been my home for almost two years. She has taken me reliably from the Caribbean through the Panama Canal and across the Pacific to French Polynesia.
She is extensively equipped for long-distance cruising and largely self-sufficient living aboard. During 2025 and 2026, many major systems and components have been renewed, upgraded or overhauled.
OPEN MIND is currently located in French Polynesia, where she can be viewed and taken over. I expect to remain in French Polynesia until June 2027, allowing flexibility for viewing and handover.
For anyone planning to cruise the Pacific, her location offers a particular advantage: the boat is already in the heart of one of the world's finest cruising areas and is equipped to continue the voyage.

Planned Work – October 2026:
OPEN MIND is scheduled to be hauled out in early October for planned maintenance and upgrades.
A new port rudder will be installed to replace the rudder that was lost at sea. There was no grounding prior to the loss.
Both emergency escape hatches will also be replaced.
During the haul-out, the underwater hulls will be pressure-washed and inspected. The existing Coppercoat antifouling remains in place and is intended to continue in service. Individual areas will be touched up where necessary.
An independent condition survey is also planned during the haul-out. The survey report will subsequently be available to serious prospective buyers.

Living Aboard:
OPEN MIND is the owner's version and offers generous living space and storage for a 40-foot performance cruising catamaran.
She is equipped not simply for holidays or occasional cruising, but for full-time living aboard and extended, self-sufficient voyages. The large solar installation and 660 Ah lithium battery bank allow a high degree of independence from shore power and engine charging.
The extensive long-distance cruising equipment, together with a large inventory of spare parts and tools, will remain aboard and is included in the sale.
For a new owner wishing to continue cruising the Pacific, OPEN MIND is therefore largely ready to go. Personal belongings will, of course, be removed before handover.

Condition and Viewing:
OPEN MIND is in good condition and regulary maintained. She is an actively sailed and lived-aboard bluewater cruising boat, not a yacht that has spent its life sitting unused in a marina. She therefore shows normal signs of age and use.
The forward and side windows on the port side show age- and UV-related wear and should be considered for replacement in the medium term.
The boat can be viewed by arrangement in French Polynesia. Following the planned haul-out in October 2026, a current independent condition survey is expected to be available.
