Beneteau Oceanis 40 (2009) – 3 Cabin – €80,000 VAT Not Paid

Beneteau Oceanis 40 built 2009 offers an outstanding combination of comfort, performance and practicality. Designed by the renowned Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design team with interiors by Nauta Design, the Oceanis 40 has become one of Beneteau's most successful cruising yachts, equally suited to extended liveaboard cruising or family sailing holidays.

This particular example is the sought-after three-cabin owner's version, providing generous accommodation for up to eight people while maintaining a spacious saloon and practical galley. With EU VAT not paid, she presents an attractive opportunity for buyers planning international cruising or export outside the European Union.

Built in France by Beneteau in 2009, the yacht features a modern white GRP hull, fin keel and masthead sloop rig. Measuring 12.15 metres (39ft 10in) overall with a beam of 3.91 metres, she delivers the excellent sailing performance and sea-keeping qualities for which the Oceanis range is renowned.

Powered by a dependable Yanmar diesel engine with shaft drive, she is equally capable under sail or power, making coastal passages and offshore cruising both comfortable and economical.

Rig & Sail
Masthead sloop
The current sail wardrobe was made and fitted in late 2023 by Dustom Sails in Croatia (lofts in Šibenik and Zagreb). The owners researched several alternatives, including UK Sailmakers and North Sails, before choosing Dustom for the combination of German DP cloth and radial cut construction. The loft was visited several times during the build.
All running rigging associated with the sails (lines and sheets) was renewed at the same time.

Sails on board:
• Mainsail: Dustom Sails, German DP, radial cut, three-point slab/jiffy reefing, newlate 2023
• Jib: Dustom Sails, German DP, radial cut, new late 2023
• Symmetrical spinnaker: minimal use to unused
• Backup mainsail and jib: previous suit, undamaged, retained on board

Accommodation
Three-cabin layout. The interior has been refreshed in two stages. Before the current owners' purchase, the floor and cabin joinery were redone by the previous owner, and the saloon cabinetry was refurbished, giving the saloon a fresh, well-finished feel.

All cabin mattresses were replaced in 2023 prior to purchase. In March 2025, the current owners replaced all saloon cushions and upholstery material in a complete refresh.

Honest disclosure: there are some areas on the floor where the top layer has begun to lift. This is straightforward to address once the replacement material is chosen, and was on the owners' list of work planned for 2026.

Climate and hot water:
• Cabin heating: Webasto diesel heater
• Air-conditioning fitted, with an additional plug-in AC unit included
• Hot water: 20 L tank, heated by shore power or engine heat exchange

Domestic
The galley is fully stocked, with all kitchenware included in the sale. Other equipment/notes;
Fridge with compressor replaced mid-2025, Ice maker.

Equipment
Primary anchor: Bügel, 25 kg, Anchor chain: 50 m, 10 mm gauge (replaced 2024), Windlass: standard (Beneteau Oceanis 40 factory fit)

Navigation
The original electronics package is the Beneteau-fitted Raymarine suite, which for the 2009 Oceanis 40 typically includes a Raymarine ST6002 autopilot and Raymarine chartplotter and instruments.
AIS transceiver was installed in February 2024. Starlink connectivity was added in June 2025.

Tenders
PVC tender by Arimar and a Honda BF2.3 (2.3hp) air-cooled outboard, both purchased new at the end of 2023. The tender is deck stowed. The air-cooled design has no impeller, which simplifies maintenance and reduces the risk of impeller failure.

Safety
Full safety kit, serviced
8-person life raft
Life vests
EPIRB
Flares
Fire extinguishers
Horn

The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.
