This Bavaria 40-3 “Lucky” is a spacious and comfortable sailing yacht, designed by J&J Design and built by Bavaria Yachtbau. With a length of 12.47 metres, a beam of 3.96 metres and a draft of 1.65 metres, this popular Bavaria model offers an excellent combination of sailing performance, comfort and living space. The CE design category A (Ocean) makes her suitable for long sea voyages and offshore sailing.

On board you will find a classic mahogany interior, a spacious saloon with a comfortable seating area and three cabins providing a total of six fixed berths. Headroom is approximately 1.95 metres. The practical galley is equipped with a two-burner gas stove, oven and an Isotherm refrigerator from 2020. With two toilets, an indoor shower and an outdoor shower, the yacht offers excellent comfort for longer stays on board.

Propulsion is provided by a 29 hp Volvo Penta MD2030 diesel engine with saildrive. Cruising speed is approximately 6.5 knots. The saildrive diaphragm was replaced in 2018 and the Gori folding propeller dates from 2022. The last major engine service was carried out in 2025. The yacht is also equipped with an electric bow thruster from 2014, making manoeuvring in harbour considerably easier.

For navigation, “Lucky” has an extensive Raymarine package, including ST60 log, depth and wind instruments, a Raymarine E7 chartplotter, Raymarine ST6001 autopilot and a Raymarine 650 AIS transponder. The VHF radio was updated in 2024 and can also be operated from the cockpit.

The Bavaria is also well equipped for sailing. The fully battened mainsail was renewed in 2025, and the yacht has a 135% genoa with a Furlex furling system. A carbon spinnaker pole from 2024 is also included.

The yacht has been owned by the current owner since 2017 and has sailed in the Netherlands, Belgium and the south-southwestern part of the United Kingdom. She is hauled out annually, and in May 2026 the antifouling and anodes were renewed. An extensive maintenance history with various maintenance invoices is available.
