An Exceptional, Heavily Refitted Example of a Rare Italian Flybridge Yacht

KOSTEL is a beautifully presented 2006 Gobbi Atlantis 55 that has benefitted from a major refit in 2020 and the kind of ownership every broker hopes to represent: always private, family-used, and lightly run, with the current owner no longer able to use her. The result is a yacht that feels a generation younger than her year, with brand-new electronics and navigation, refreshed systems throughout, and interior woodwork in genuinely excellent condition.

She is a standout in her class. The Atlantis 55 was the largest model Azimut-Benetti built under the Gobbi name, and her defining feature remains unlike anything else of her size and era — an almost fully glazed main deck beneath an electrohydraulic opening glass roof, with electrohydraulic side windows that drop away at the touch of a button. Open, the entire upper deck is transformed into a sun-filled social space; closed, it becomes a sealed, air-conditioned saloon. It is a boat for a Mediterranean summer and a boat for weather, and very few yachts offer both so completely.

Accommodation is arranged over three cabins and three heads, sleeping six in two doubles and a twin. Each cabin is appointed for modern living: the forward cabin features brand-new flat-screen televisions, the midship twin has its own flat screen, and the aft cabin enjoys a flat screen with surround sound. A security system with cameras runs throughout the vessel. The interior joinery — warm timber, satin-finished — has been maintained to an exceptional standard and requires nothing.

The main deck is built for entertaining. A large sunbed area and a generous L-shaped sofa seat up to eight around a table, while a U-shaped sunbed and dining area anchor the social heart of the yacht. Dedicated main-deck air conditioning keeps the space comfortable in high summer, and an on-deck ice maker, grill, and a separate deck fridge and freezer mean guests are looked after without a single trip below. Aft, a further sunbed area makes the most of time at anchor.

Below and behind the scenes, KOSTEL has been thoughtfully brought up to contemporary specification. She carries a fully operational watermaker, a comprehensive Victron energy system with separate battery balancers, and — unusually — a dedicated isolator for solar-power energy, all fitted new. Bow and stern thrusters and autopilot make a 16-metre yacht easy to handle single-handed, and a full sound system was installed as part of the refit. The teak is in excellent condition throughout, with only minor attention needed. A garage in the transom houses the yacht's 2.68-metre tender with a 15 hp outboard, and a generator with approximately 100 hours completes the picture. A full Bimini, spray hood, and covers protect the entire aft area when she is left on her berth.

Compounding the appeal of the refit is a documentary record that sets KOSTEL apart from the rest of the field. Her twin Caterpillar C12 diesels have been maintained throughout by Eltrak S.A., Caterpillar's authorised dealer in Greece, and she holds a current Lloyd's Register Certificate of General Inspection valid to June 2030, issued following a dry docking and inspection at sea in June 2026. The upholstery is in excellent order and requires no attention.

Rare to the market, heavily refitted, VAT paid, and offered by a private owner, KOSTEL represents an unusually complete proposition for a buyer seeking a distinctive, sea-kindly Mediterranean yacht ready to step aboard and enjoy.
