What other boatbuilder can claim to have been surfing a literal wave of success since the 1920s – pardon: riding it?

The Correct Craft shipyard has always been known as a reliable guarantee of fun on the water. After all, "just any old powerboat as a tow vehicle" is simply not enough for proper water skiing and wakeboarding!
Riding the wave of success
Some company names have rather curious origins. In the case of "Correct Craft", for example, it has to do with shoes: back in the 1930s, company founder W.C. Meloon was delighted by a shoe advertisement whose slogan was: "The correct heel for you!" In an era when catchy slogans were the last word for every product group, W.C. turned his shipyard, the Florida Variety Boat Company, into the "Correct Craft" shipyard – the correct boat for you!
An important supplier in the Second World War
Does that sound a little simplistic? Well, success proved W.C. Meloon right. His shipyard quickly expanded into one of the largest powerboat production facilities in the USA. And during the Second World War, the shipyard was commandeered to build boats for the US Navy. Towards the end of the war, General Eisenhower ordered a further, astonishing 400 pontoon and landing craft – and within a month, please – for the rapid crossing of the Rhine. "Correct Craft" delivered correctly and reliably, just in time.
In the 1950s and 1960s, water skiing began its heyday, and Correct Craft was one of the first shipyards worldwide to build boats specifically for the sport. This was the start of a great wave of success that has not ebbed to this day.
Trim tabs and towers
Speaking of waves: while water skiing calls for as little wake as possible behind the stern, the new trend sport of wakeboarding in the 1990s suddenly demanded big ones. Here too, Correct Craft delivered reliably and innovatively, becoming one of the first shipyards to bring powerboats fitted with trim tabs for different wave heights, as well as the patented wakeboard tower, to the market.
At the start of the 2020s, Correct Craft now presents itself as a conglomerate of 11 water sports brands that the shipyard has brought on board over the past two decades. A true American success story!
