1975 Alaskan 49 – Classic wooden trawler yacht

This Alaskan 49, hull number 21, is a classic wooden trawler yacht built by American Marine Limited in Hong Kong, the shipyard that later became known as Grand Banks. She represents one of the classic trawler yachts from the early Grand Banks era, appreciated for their traditional construction, practical layout and timeless character.

Built in 1975, she offers the typical layout of a proper cruising trawler: a comfortable raised pilothouse, practical deck areas, a spacious saloon, and generous interior volume for extended stays on board. Her wooden construction gives her a warm and authentic feel, with the charm of a true classic yacht.

This particular unit is powered by two Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines of 213 hp each, installed in 1998. Technically, the boat is reported to be in good working condition, although she would benefit from some updating to bring her comfort and appearance in line with current expectations. This makes her an interesting opportunity for a buyer looking for a classic trawler with a good technical base, character and potential.

The interior layout includes two forward en-suite cabins, a comfortable saloon with the possibility to convert into an additional berth, and a pilothouse that can also be converted into a berth. This gives the yacht very flexible accommodation for family cruising, guests, or longer stays on board.

She is registered under Spanish flag, Lista 7ª, and has been with her current owner since 2005.

A beautiful classic trawler yacht with strong character, good technical base, and plenty of potential for a new owner who appreciates traditional wooden boats.
