Historic Passenger Vessel / Houseboat Conversion Opportunity

A unique opportunity to acquire a classic steel passenger vessel with extensive structural and mechanical upgrades already completed, making it an ideal candidate for continued commercial operation or conversion into a luxury houseboat, floating hotel, restaurant, event venue, office, or tourism project.
Originally built in 1955 in Germany, the vessel has undergone substantial modernization over recent years while retaining its robust steel hull construction and commercial vessel certification.
The vessel is currently certified to carry up to 60 passengers and is equipped with complete fire protection systems, life-saving equipment, navigation equipment, and operational machinery. All major structural and mechanical investments have already been completed, allowing the future owner to focus primarily on interior customization according to the intended use.
A major hull refurbishment was carried out in 2020 when the vessel was fully lifted from the water. During this process the entire hull was professionally sandblasted, primed, and repainted, significantly extending its service life and ensuring long-term corrosion protection.
The vessel has also benefited from extensive technical upgrades, including replacement of the main engine, installation of a diesel generator, hydraulic systems, and construction of a new aluminium superstructure. The main propulsion engine (VETUS DT66452E) currently has approximately 7,000 operating hours, while the diesel generator (BETA MARINE BV 1505G, output 11,2 kW) has approximately 1680 operating hours. Both installed at year 2009.

One of the vessel's strongest selling points is its exceptional potential for conversion into a floating residential or hospitality project. The heavy structural and mechanical work has already been completed, saving a future owner significant time and investment. Large interior spaces provide an excellent foundation for creating private accommodation, guest cabins, luxury suites, communal living areas, dining facilities, office space, or other custom layouts. This makes the vessel particularly attractive for investors seeking a unique waterfront property, floating hotel, Airbnb project, restaurant, café, event venue, or long-term liveaboard residence.

In April 2025, an independent ultrasonic thickness survey of the hull structure, deck plating and bulkheads was conducted by certified marine inspection company UAB “Harbort Klaipėda” in accordance with Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration requirements. The survey confirmed that the vessel's steel structure remains in excellent condition, with measured thickness values remaining very close to original construction dimensions and well above minimum allowable limits. The results demonstrate outstanding structural integrity and confirm that the hull has been exceptionally well maintained throughout its life.

The vessel is currently located in Lithuania and can be relocated to another port or country. Preliminary discussions regarding relocation and transfer procedures have already been coordinated with the Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration (MSA), making the delivery process straightforward for the future owner. Assistance with relocation and documentation can be provided if required.

Key Advantages
• Certified passenger vessel for up to 60 passengers
• Excellent steel hull condition confirmed by independent ultrasonic survey (2025)
• Full hull sandblasting, priming and repainting completed in 2020
• Strong steel construction with proven long-term durability
• New aluminium superstructure
• Main engine approximately 7000 operating hours
• Diesel generator approximately 1679 operating hours
• Powerful hydraulic bow thruster
• Two steering stations (bow and aft)
• Hydraulic systems installed
• Complete fire protection and life-saving equipment
• Commercial vessel certification
• Relocation to another country or port possible
• Significant structural and mechanical investments already completed
• Ideal conversion project for houseboat, floating hotel, restaurant, event venue, office, tourism or residential use. Masts are removable.

This vessel represents a rare opportunity to acquire a structurally sound and extensively upgraded commercial vessel with exceptional redevelopment potential. Opportunities to purchase a certified steel vessel with this level of completed investment, documented hull condition, and flexibility for future conversion are increasingly rare.
