History
Before 2021, the yacht was used only for inshore racing in the Mediterranean by her first owner. The second owner intended to enter the Transquadra, but the project was cancelled following Covid, so the yacht saw relatively little use during that period.
Since September 2021, the current owner has carried out extensive winter refits to achieve her present level of preparation and reliability. She has completed the full RORC programme with only one incident: a torn mainsail during the 2023 Fastnet. The mainsail has since been replaced with a new and considerably stronger sail. She completed both transatlantic races without any major issues.
Racing in Normandy and with the RORC has enabled the boat and her settings to be thoroughly refined. Platypus is now an exceptionally quick and dependable offshore race yacht, as demonstrated by her recent results.
