Founded back in 1884, French boat manufacturer Beneteau has built a strong reputation over the years as one of the world's leading manufacturers of boats for sailing and leisure.
By combining modern production techniques with classic quality, Beneteau has succeeded in delivering boats that are both comfortable and fun to sail.
The First 405 is part of Beneteau's popular "First" series - models that combine performance and cruising comfort. Designed by renowned naval architect Jean Berret, this model was launched in the mid-1980s.
The interior is particularly highlighted for its high-quality teak finish. From official descriptions: "Come inside the First 405 and you will understand how Beneteau knows how to enhance a current product, thanks to cabinetmaking expertise... a single teak was chosen."
The First 405 thus offers a harmonious combination of good sailing performance and comfortable living spaces - suitable for both weekend trips and longer cruises.
This unique example of the First 405 from 1986 is well maintained and with several significant upgrades:
- Original Perkins M4.108 freshwater-cooled diesel engine - newly overhauled in 2019 with approximately 600 hours thereafter.
- Two forestays both with roller (52 m2 and 30 m2)
- Specially selected propeller (Autoprop)
- Updated battery pack with lithium batteries
- Bow thruster from Side-Power (2023)
- Electric windlass (Lofrans 1000 W)
- New sprayhood and cockpit tent (2025)
- New autopilot installed with Jefa driver (approx. 2024)
- Webasto diesel boiler
- Holding tank with tire deflation
- Solar panels
The boat has been regularly maintained and is generally in very good condition. However, there are two minor areas to note:
- Cladding in the toilet room is missing
- Cladding in aft cabin is not quite as nice as the rest of the interior - minor refreshment is recommended.
