Long distance cruiser Kairos for sale in the Mediterranean Sea
Sailing yacht Kairos is a Standfast 33 from 1979. I bought her in Vigo in 2021. Between 2022 and 2024, Kairos was our home for a total of about two years in the Mediterranean. In June 2025, I sailed her from Morocco back to Spain. Since then, she has been stored ashore in Almerimar, waiting for new adventures.
Asking price: €16,500
Fyi: When Kairos was hauled out in June 2025, some osmosis blisters were found. These are visible and marked in a picture from June 2025. The new owner can decide to have this treated (professionally) or to go sailing first and deal with the treatment later. Opinions on the seriousness of osmosis vary widely. Ultimately, something has to be done: opening, rinsing, drying, filling and repainting.
Good to know: below the waterline, Kairos was rebuilt from the bare polyester in 2022. She was provided with five layers of two component material (white over black VCtar2 from International). The original gelcoat has been removed. Therefore, the blue areas in the photos are old antifouling; white and black areas are VCtar2, or “scratches” in one of these layers.
General information
The Standfast 33 (design by Frans Maas) is 10 metres long, 3.20 metres wide, has a draft of 1.80 metres, and an air draft of nearly 14 metres. The mast is keel stepped. The hull number of Kairos is 537. She displaces 4.8 tonnes and carries 1.8 tonnes of ballast in the keel. The keel bolt nuts were professionally replaced in Vigo in 2022.
Officially, Kairos offers sleeping accommodation for 6 people (the saloon table converts into a double berth). This configuration may be fine for a weekend or so. We have lived on Kairos for a week at a time with a maximum of 3 people.

As mentioned, Kairos is currently ashore in Almerimar. The marina is fully equipped, with excellent nautical shops and service companies. In Almerimar it is also permitted to work on your own boat and stay aboard while doing so. Of course, you can also ask the yard for assistance. Also helpful: remarkably many people in Almerimar speak English, which is certainly not the case everywhere.
If you have serious interest in Kairos and would like more information, you can get in touch via ##################@proton.me.
