For decades, Maxi has been synonymous with well-sailing, well-designed, and practical sailboats, where safe handling, functional solutions, and comfort on the water have gone hand in hand. Behind many of the most famous Maxi models stands the Swedish designer and sailor Pelle Petterson, who, with his background in both competitive sailing and yacht design, has created boats with a rare balance between performance and user-friendliness.

This Maxi 1060 is built at the renowned Najad shipyard, one of Sweden’s most respected names in the field of high-quality sailboat construction. Najad is known for solid craftsmanship, well-thought-out details, and boats designed for safe and comfortable sailing—even when the journey takes you beyond the local fjord or archipelago.

The Maxi 1060 is an elegant and versatile cruiser that strikes an attractive balance between sailing pleasure, comfort, and maneuverability. The model is well-suited for family sailing, weekend trips, and longer vacations. It offers safe and stable sailing characteristics, good speed in both light and fresh winds, and a cockpit designed for easy handling—even with a small crew. The combination of furling sails, a clear deck layout, and practical mooring solutions makes the boat easy to sail and use in practice.

Inside, you are greeted by a bright, inviting, and spacious interior with beautiful oak woodwork that creates a modern and airy atmosphere. The layout features two comfortable cabins, a midship salon, a galley with an oven and refrigerator, and a separate bathroom with a shower. There are up to 7 berths in total, ample headroom, and plenty of practical storage space.

This particular example is a rare 2009 Maxi 1060, launched in 2010, and presents itself as a very attractive and well-equipped boat for the quality-conscious sailor. The boat is equipped with a Volvo Penta D1-30 with Saildrive 130S, a Flex-o-Fold 3-blade folding propeller, a bow thruster with remote control, and a windlass with a Rocna anchor and chain.

Navigation and electronics have been updated with a Raymarine Axiom 9 Pro chartplotter, AIS transponder, VHF with handsets in both the cabin and cockpit, autopilot with remote control, as well as wind, depth, and other instruments. Comfort on board is enhanced by a Wallas diesel heater, electric Jabsco toilet, Isoterm water heater, Isoterm cooler, custom-made mattresses in both the forward and aft cabins, as well as a stereo system and TV.

On deck, you’ll find, among other things, a Lewmar winch, six stainless steel cleats, a teak cockpit table, a teak swim platform, and a hot/cold shower on the swim platform. The sprayhood, canopy, and wheel cover are in a dark gray finish from 2025, and the boat was also fitted with a new “carbon” wheel in 2026. The service batteries and separate starter battery are also from 2025.

The rig and sails consist of a Seldén furling mast and Furlex 200. The mainsail and jib from UK are the originals, but both were inspected by a sailmaker in 2025. Additionally, a spinnaker from Quantum Sails on the Seldén furling system is included, which looks almost new. Virtually all blocks, the mainsheet, and various lines were replaced in 2026, and the boat comes with mooring lines and fenders.
