2026 Refit – Complete Repower with New Engines, Saildrives & Propellers

Wikiwiki has been our family’s home on the water for the past few years. We have crossed the Atlantic and Pacific, sailed the Caribbean, Tahiti, Mexico and the US West Coast, and most recently explored the beautiful coast of British Columbia.

We bought her to sail, not to sit in a marina. She has taken us to remote anchorages, alongside whales and dolphins, and given us experiences as a family that we will never forget.

And she is great fun to sail. There is something very special about sitting comfortably in the cockpit with a coffee while Wikiwiki sails quickly and effortlessly past much larger, heavier boats.

Earlier this summer we actually decided not to sell her and started a substantial refit for our own continued cruising. But our sons are grown up and we increasingly sail as a couple, so a smaller boat now makes more sense for us.

The major part of the 2026 refit is now complete. Wikiwiki has received:

2 new Volvo Penta D2-50F engines, 50 HP each

2 new Volvo Penta 130S-D saildrives

2 new propellers

New saildrive connection kits

All deck hatches have been removed, professionally resealed and reinstalled. The hull was power-washed and prepared, and new bottom paint was applied.

After completion of the repower in Vancouver, we sailed Wikiwiki to the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, where she is now in the marina for the winter.

Our original plan was to continue south to Mexico, but delays with the repower meant we missed our window to head south this season. So Mexico will have to wait – and we are back to snow in Whistler instead. :-)

Wikiwiki is a 2018 Owner’s Version with three cabins, carbon mast, generator, lithium batteries, watermaker and air conditioning.

She has crossed two oceans and has been sailed, lived aboard, maintained and improved by people who genuinely love sailing her.

We hope her next owners will buy her for the same reason we did: to go somewhere.
