The Matteo Patrol Boat was really a Patrol Boat that belonged to the Port Authority of La Maddalena and for many years it carried out the control and rescue service in the archipelago of the same name.
The English hull HALMATIC, built in Hampshire in glass fibre reinforced plastic in 1974, of incredible strength, contains three diesel tanks for a total of 1800 litres that allow a long sailing autonomy. The renovation work, which began in 2011 and was completed in 2014,
The Aifo motors have been completely overhauled, repainted and the electrical connections replaced.
The hull completely repainted, the new Teak deck made, all the profiles in mahogany wood. The electrical system redone with stainless steel ducts, the new panel and the gala lights in the hull, all the new RAYMARINE instrumentation with the thermal camera to see in the dark.
The engine room soundproofed by new insulating panels, new bilge pumps, all diesel and water filters with all new pipes, redone shaft lines and a new daily stainless steel diesel tank.
On deck, the missing handrails on the deckhouse and the entire large bow pulpit have been custom-made in stainless steel, including the new manhole to access the rudder room at the stern. All the portholes have also been chrome-plated and the front windows on the bridge have been replaced, including new clairvoyant mirrors to navigate even with formed waves.
