Built in Porvoo Finland, at Wilenius Båtvarv1939. This famous shipyard is known of its classical and fast sailing yachts.
Designer, naval architect Gösta Kyntzell was propably the most important Finnish boat designer at his time.
Katrina is regocniceable not only by outlook but she is also fast and easy to sail as Kyntzell boats in common.
Katrina has K-status, nominated by the Mahogany Yachting Society MYS (collaborating with the National Museum of Finland).
Constructed of 1” oregon pine planks and oak frames.
The ribs are made of oak, every third sawn rib of ash.
New keel plank was installed 1989 and later new teak deck and beautifully reconstructed mahogany cabin following the original drawings of Kyntzell.
In 2003 renovation Katrina got a new rudder and in the last renovation in 2016-2018, original rear oak stem was reneved, 15 original keel suppports made of black steel were replaced with new, made of acid-proof steel and also most of the oak ribs were renewed.
Katrina is perfectly designed both for racing and cruising. On deck there are 6 winches, where 2 Lewmar are 3 geared (for genoa) and 2 Andersen are two geared. In cockpit there are 3 Andersen self tailing winches for main and left and right backstay. On the mast is one winch for genoa. All sails are lifted from the cockpit.
Deck is clear for manouvers, and winches are close to helms man so in holiday cruising she sails normally by two persons and she can be sailed even single handed.

Aluminium mast (NG 80-profile) and boom are made by Isomat. Genoa roll was installed 2013.
