The LA 28 was designed by Martin Menzner of Berckemeyer Yacht Design and is offered and built by LA Yacht- und Bootsbau GmbH as a series in various configuration variants.
These boats are built with either a fixed keel, a lifting keel or a pivot keel.
The yacht is one-hand suitable and has 4 beds. Despite being suitable for one-handed use, this ship will also be able to ride in front at regattas.
Hull and deck:
The hull and deck are completely made of molded wood and with modern vacuum technology.
The inner layers are made of cedar or Sipo.
The exterior veneer is made from selected khaya.
The upper deck layer is a teak deck. For the gluing of the veneers, high quality EP resin is used.
Keel and rudder:
T-keel made of carbon fin with lead bomb as Festkiel. Rudder attached as single rudder in carbon with glued wooden core.
Rigging and sails:
Mast and boom in carbon. Rigging in Dyform.
Rolling device of Bartels under deck.
Rodkicker in carbon with gas spring.
Auto Turning Stick and Traveler.
Mainsail issued with a reef. Gennaker on the extendable bowsprit.
All sails from UK Sails in X-Drive Carbon.
All deck fittings including winches are from Harken.
