The hull was extended professionally in 2001. The new transom extends the boat by 3.5 feet in the waterline, for higher boat speed, better sailing characteristics, bathing platform and extra storage space.
The last boats built by Ree Marine in Sønderborg were a signifcant improvement of the earlier MK I and MK II boats. They were built to a higher quality than the earlier boats with a much improved finish and layout of the accomodation, a higher aft leaning mast with 2 spars and 9/10 setup, two forestays for easy and quick foresail change, a new and deeper keel and changed rudder profile. The boat was thus transformed to have the sailing characteristics of a sailboat but still with the comfort of a motorsailor.
