We got you! Currently located in the Mediterranean coastal city of Torredembarra, Spain (very close to Barcelona) the S/V Chasing Sunsets is offered for sale. She is a small and easily handled catamaran that has the perfect combination of being compact enough to fit in standard berths in marinas while also offering comfortable accommodation for anything from weekend trips to full live-aboard.

The boat is set up as a true adventure boat, with its shallow draft and twin lifting daggerboards, it can go into the most shallow of waters, run dry on sand banks, moor on a beach or traverse shallow canals such as the Canal du Midi (relocating to the Atlantic coast) or the English channels. The boat has been well tested as a live-aboard adventure boat with a recent trip from the East coast of Sweden to its present location in Spain.

There is plenty of space aboard for bringing friends along, with two enclosed cabins in the stern of the hulls, two berths further forward and a comfortable double when the salon seating is converted. The cockpit is surprisingly spacious and can easily accommodate a small gathering of people for evening cocktails in the marina or the included folding table for a waterside dinner.

The boat is an Iroquois MK I catamaran, constructed of GRP in the hull with balsa/GRP sandwich construction roof. Construction was in 1969 and was originally designed for off-shore racing in the UK. Sailing can be very fun with favorable conditions, and she will respond well with the acceleration sometimes taking you by surprise!

She has been fitted with a 540 watt solar panel array and 480 Ah of battery capacity that gives plenty of power for lights, navigation, running the (included) fridge and charging all your phones, macbooks and cameras. The 15hp Yamaha (2018) outboard engine also has a built-in alternator for keeping the batteries topped up while under engine power, and is capable of pushing the boat along at a steady 5-6 knots, while maintaining excellent fuel economy. In addition, we upgraded the freshwater storage to 320 liters, so longer trips are no problem anymore and you can stay away from pricy marinas.

Included with the boat are a number of good mooring ropes, anchors with chains, fenders, spare parts and dinghy with oars and pump. There are three extra sails on top of those already shown, including a spinnaker. Also, there are items in the kitchen (dishes etc) a gas BBQ, folding table and folding chairs, cushions, trolley, fuel tanks, fire extinguisher, life jackets and more.

The boat is currently being stored in dry storage, having been lifted in October and the hull cleaned. She is ready to be put back in the water and for her next journey to begin. All she needs is a captain with a sense of adventure!
