**Description**
Are you looking for a solid boat for the adventure of your life? This is an Elan 43 from 1990, which has been under Norwegian ownership since it was new. The boat is very stable, easy to sail, and has completed round trips to the Caribbean twice (2015 and 2021) without any issues. The boat is spacious, has sleek lines, and is very well equipped.
The boat is set up and equipped for long voyages, meaning it has a lot of equipment that is essential for longer legs. With several solar panels, a large battery bank, a watermaker, a washing machine, and a large water tank, you can manage without a harbor berth for 6 months.
The boat participated in the ARC regatta (cruising rally) from Las Palmas to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. To be allowed to start, a number of safety requirements had to be met. This includes necessary MOB equipment, adequate bilge capacity, life raft, grab bags, emergency flares, satellite phone, etc. All of this equipment is already in place on the boat, and all you need to do is maintain service intervals and check expiration dates.
**Standard:**
The boat has undergone several significant upgrades. In short, the boat has new North sails from 2020/2021, new electronics from B&G, professionally applied Coppercoat (bottom paint) in 2020 with a 10-year warranty (inspected and touched up in 2022), new safety equipment in 2021 (ARC-approved), and the engine was thoroughly inspected and upgraded in 2021. **Layout:**
The boat has a relatively large and, most importantly, safe cockpit. You are well protected by a large pushpit, with a solid swim platform behind you. The swim platform is very practical for outdoor showers, washing dishes, and especially for swimming. The boat also has a raised area near the saloon steps, which prevents water and spray from getting into the boat.
The saloon feels spacious and airy. The large "glass roof" allows a lot of light in, making the saloon a pleasant place. The seating area is excellent, and the table is electrically foldable if you need a daybed or extra bed. A very practical 12V freezer, which can be placed under the saloon table, is included. The chart table and electrical panel are conveniently located. The refrigerator is large and very practical with a top-loading lid in the back. The stove was new in 2021. The sink has two basins, very practical for washing dishes. In addition to hot and cold water, there is also a foot pump connected to seawater. There is plenty of cupboard space with sliding doors on both sides of the saloon.
The aft cabins are almost identical in size, with the starboard aft cabin featuring a pilot berth that can be used for sail storage. The port aft cabin has access via the aft bathroom.
The aft bathroom has an electric toilet connected to the holding tank. The mixer tap has a pull-out hose, so it can function as a shower.
The forward cabin is large and spacious, with a wall-mounted washing machine that holds 3kg. The forward cabin has its own bathroom.

The floorboards in the boat can be lifted up, allowing you to store extra water bottles, for example.
**Seaworthiness:**
The boat is very stable, easy to sail, and has completed round trips to the Caribbean twice (2015 and 2021) without any issues. The swim platform also makes the boat narrower at the stern, which makes it more stable when the sea is following. The boat also has a raised area near the saloon steps, which prevents water and spray from getting into the boat. Sheets and halyards are led back to the cockpit, ensuring safe and easy handling. The boat has furling mainsail and furling genoa, very practical and easy for long voyages.
**Engine and Sails:**
The boat is equipped with a Yanmar 44 hp from 1990, which runs very smoothly and nicely. In 2021, the engine was thoroughly inspected and upgraded.
New genoa (furling) in 2022 (130%), new mainsail (furling) in 2020, new cutter sail in 2020, lightly used spinnaker, and an unused storm sail.
In addition, a number of older sails are included, including racing sails.
