Dienstag, 20.03.2007Desafío Español, ESP 97, is christened by Queen Sofia Her Majesty, Queen Sofía of Spain, has christened ESP 97, the second boat built by Desafío Español 2007 for the 32nd America's Cup. This day is a milestone for the team. The Spaniards spent 16 000 man-hours in the design of the boat and another 27 000 to build it.

Cayard starts work with Desafío Español 2007 Desafío Español 2007 introduced sailing legend Paul Cayard on Thursday at its base in Port America's Cup. Cayard, who first participated in the America's Cup in1983, has been hired by the Spanish team for two months as a sporting and technical consultant - essentially, he is here to help the team maximise the potential of its boats and its people.
